Join us this Saturday, from 10am-noon for a beach cleanup at Yaquina Head. OPRD beach rangers and local volunteers have noticed a high increase in small polystyrene, densely accumulating along the beaches and wrack lines. Areas of higher impact include the stretch of beach alongside of Big Creek up to Yaquina Head as well as Devil's Punchbowl/Otter rock area. A few volunteers can really make a large impact, please come out and support your local beaches. If there are enough volunteers after we do Yaquina Head cleanup, we may head up to Devil's Punchbowl to polish off that area as well. Come prepared for inclement weather, we'll have some shelter for registration and bag and glove supplies for volunteers, but we encourage you to bring a bucket and your own work gloves if you can!
