Help De-Nail Newport Beaches Saturday Aug. 3

Hey everyone! We hope your summer is keeping you stoked with good times on our beaches. But with the wicked summer, comes wicked leftovers from bonfire parties on the beach. An unfortunate leftover from most bonfires are the nails contained in scrap lumber and pallets that themselves turn to ash. Obviously getting an old rusty nail into a bare foot while walking on an otherwise beautiful beach is no fun. So, with the help of Oregon Parks and Rec, we are having a "de-nailing" party to help get rid of as much of the dangerous leftover crud as we can on Saturday, August 3rd at Nye Beach and Agate Wayside 9am - noon!

We will be meeting first at Nye Beach Turnaround (on the beach) from 9am-1020am, and then moving on to Agate Beach Wayside from 1030am-noon.

If you have a sturdy rake, and a 5 gallon bucket, bring it on out! We'll provide the gloves and the donuts to help keep you fueled. And at the end of it all, Pete will probably give you each a rewarding high-five for your volunteer efforts!

We'll be tackling 2 different beaches: Nye Beach and Agate Beach. Feel free to bring a few new friends that might not know about Surfrider to this event, and you can feel good about introducing them to becoming stewards of their own natural community resources!
