The Newport Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation is a incredible group of people working hard to protect their local ocean and beaches! Not only is the Chapter protecting special places like Otter Rock Marine Reserve, Yaquina Head and South Beach State Park, but they have the most robust Blue Water Task Force water quality program on the coast, run the only youth surf competition in the state and host more beach cleanups than any other chapter in Oregon!
We are a passionate (and fun loving) group of people who care about our ocean, rivers, waves and beaches. Sound like you? We are looking for more like-minded locals to help us protect these special places and take on a leadership role within the chapter. Could be just leading a beach cleanup or maybe you've got the interest and desire to take on a bigger role - bring what you've got! We provide necessary training, stoke and tools of the trade.
Come join us at Rouge Bayfront Public House on Tuesday, September 20th @ 7:30pm for a presentation from Surfrider Oregon Field Coordinator, Ryan Cruse, on who we are, what we do and how you can become a leader in protecting your local coastline! He'll be covering why Surfrider is a unique organization that provides a great platform for developing leadership skills and creating positive change as well as talking about chapter leadership positions that are available.
