The Pacific Maritime & Heritage Center is looking for contemporary surfer photos to add to their wonderful exhibit showcasing the history of surfing in the local area.
To round out the (mostly pictorial) display, the curator, Sachiko is looking for current surfer's photos 'Photos should be a copy, as we can't return them. It doesn't matter if it is a surfing pic, posing, holding a board at the beach or group photos... as long as they show surfers from this area or taken in this area. I think history is not only about the past. If younger generations participate the exhibit, that would be fun and hopefully it leads them to be interested in the local history. For example, if someone brings photos of Agate Beach from recent years, we can see photos of 1910s, 1960s and recent ones.'
