First River Wave Competition in Bend and SOLVE River Clean Up

Our Bend Newport Chapter of Surfrider Foundation are excited to be working with 10 Barrel on the first River Wave Competition occurring this Saturday, September 21st. The day will kick-off at 9am with Surfrider Foundation leading a Deschutes River Clean-up with Bend Parks and Recreation. After the crazy amount of people enjoying the River, we have some clean-up efforts to do. If there are any paddle boarders out there who would like to come help out cleaning in the River, we could use your help. Please register to volunteer at our SOLVE Registration Page. The clean-up will occur from 9am-11am. The Surf Jam with music will kick off at 11:30am and run through 6pm. Come enjoy beverages, play games and celebrate the Deschutes River wave. Bring chairs and watch some of Bend’s best compete for prizes. The competition will be jam format with contestants being 18 and older with 12-17 competitors per round. All beer proceeds go back to wave maintenance! At 6:30 the awards ceremony will commence and we will head to 10 Barrel Westside for an after party! There are still openings if you want to compete, please register here. So come this Saturday and join us at McKay Park on the Deschutes River near the Old Mill District for conservation and surfing fun!
