King Tides versus Newport Chapter Surfrider

Beach Cleanup January 22nd

King Tides are here again. These are the highest tides of the year, when the greatest amount of trash is deposited on the beach. The next onslaught of trash is Saturday and Sunday, the 19th and 20th. Surfrider is hitting the Otter Rock beach Tuesday January
22 at 2:30 p.m. as the tide that day recedes. Weather is supposed to be good. Please come and help us keep our Otter Rock beach clean.

We will park in the Otter Rock Parking Lot near the bathrooms and meet at the picnic table next to the bathrooms. Scott, local Surfrider chair, will
distribute supplies and do an introduction by the table. Then everyone will walk down to the beach together.

After the cleanup, we may all go at 6:00 p.m. in our no-longer-clean cleanup clothes to the Newport City Council meeting where Surfrider will be asking City Council to "Ban the Bag."
