Big thanks to everyone this past weekend for their efforts to make the annual Seafood and Wine an amazing fundraiser for the Newport Chapter again this year! Through the amazing sponsorship support of Barefoot Wine and Bubbly and core leadership by Beth Hawkyard, the chapter was able to raise over $6500 at this year's event!
In true Barefoot spirit, only 3 days on the job, Marnie Petek flew in to help with set-up and orient volunteers to the new wines we served this year. Through the excellent volunteer support and organizing by Vince Pappalardo,the chapter managed over 40 volunteer slots over the weekend. Thank you all who helped take shifts and made this all happen!
Funds from the event primarily support Newport Chapter’s Blue Water Task Force Program and beach cleanup efforts. Stay tuned in this summer as Surfrider and Barefoot launch their cooperative Beach Rescue Project, supporting barefoot friendly cleanup events across the nation with awesome afterparty appreciations for the volunteers!
