Help our San Francisco Chapter pass an ordinance to make single-use disposables available only upon request for the City of Pleasanton.
San Francisco has always been a leader for action in reducing single-use plastic pollution. Now, the Surfrider San Francisco Chapter is encouraging the neighboring City of Pleasanton to do the same by passing an ordinance which would make single-use disposables to be upon request only. This would be part of a county-wide ordinance that would affect all cities in Alameda County.
The proposed ordinance would be in two parts:
Part 1: Every food service ware item would be upon request.
Part 2: Require reusables for on-site dining, and charge to-go fees for cups and containers.
Contact San Francisco Chapter RAP Lead Oliva Angus for information about how to get involved.
